Geological Objections
Below is a list of objection paragraphs relating to the geological impact of this proposed wind turbine. They are not in any particular order. Either cut and paste the relevant objections into your letter, or use them as seeds for your own ideas.
Site Geology
Stability of site - mining
* Developers frequently avoid giving detailed geophysical information about the site, such as fault lines and mining. This is because it might make the location of a turbine inappropriate on the grounds of safety. Has a full geological survey been carried out?
* The site is full of mine workings close to the surface and any construction work could cause gas leakage. I would question the safety of building over old mine workings where there is a major fault line.
* Incomplete information is given to the geology of the area. Only a brief Coal mining report has been sought. A full Geo-survey of the area is required due to the disused mine workings and the fault line that runs straight under the proposed turbine site.
